As I reach the end of my 3 month exploration into Human Design I’d like to share my brief but profound journey. Human Design has really helped me deepen my understanding of myself, and as someone who is passionate about self development work, I now can’t recommend Human Design enough.
I heard the term ‘Human Design’ from a friend a while back and didn’t give it much thought. It’s not that I didn’t believe in it (I’m open to everything), it just weren’t really a part of my healing journey at the time. There’s so much out there that it’s impossible to do it all at once, and I didn’t really have the capacity to look into ANOTHER tool. Fast forward a year, and I felt ready to take this next step in my self-development journey.
I think a recent psychic reading which touched on numerology really triggered me to look into it more. The psychic medium got my personality SO spot on (scarily so) just based on my name and birthday that I really felt like there is so much more to this. When and where we are born shapes us. I’ve witnessed too much evidence now to think otherwise.
So what is Human Design? Essentially Human Design is an incredibly specific way to learn more about your personality, emotions, and energy centres, all based on your exact time, date and place of birth. That’s a really short way of describing it, because I can’t articulate the specifics. But to be honest, for the purpose of this blog I’m not sure it’s really that important.
So why now? I’m in a good place mentally and ready to start creating. I have overcome a lot of my demons in the past couple of years and want to start building a life I am deeply in love with. Don’t get me wrong, my life is so blessed as it is, but am I truly aligned right now? No. I want to learn about how I should make decisions to build the life I want. I want to work with my strengths and weaknesses, and not against them. I’m in a place to really look forward and I feel like Human Design will help me with this next stage.
"The world floods us with messages about who we should be in order to survive and thrive in this world – but Human Design teaches that the same advice is not right for everybody. I’m ready to unlearn who the world told me I should be and connect to who I’m meant to be."
Above is a copy of my chart. Looks complicated right! If you’re interested in what you could learn about yourself through Human Design, I’m about to share my biggest discoveries. Of course these are so unique to me, but they will hopefully give you a bit of an insight into how you could work with Human Design. I’m overly simplifying this too – but I’m sure no-one cares about my pages and pages of notes.
I’m a Manifesting Generator
I don’t move through life in a linear way and can change direction a lot. I am a multi-passionate being and can easily move on from things if it no longer excites me. I used to think I had to fit into a box, or be into one thing and stick to it, but Human Design has taught me it’s okay to change my mind and be multi-faceted. I have a lot of different interests and can wear a lot of different masks – and I should celebrate that.
Ride the emotional wave
As someone with a defined emotional centre, I will naturally experience an emotional wave (finally something which explains why I have so many emotional ups and downs), and the key is to make decisions after experiencing the highs and lows. If I make a decision when experiencing an intense emotion, it might backfire as it was a temporary decision based on emotion rather than my true correctness. If I allow my emotions to move through me, I’ll come to clarity. I am someone who doesn’t have access to an immediate yes/no, my clarity will come to me over time. This was an important learning as I often get frustrated if I don’t know the answer or how I feel about something straight away. I can now give myself permission to take my time over decisions.
My 5/1 profile – Transpersonal energy
I want to be a hero and go to the depths of my knowledge base to offer it up to everyone. I have a strong magnetic quality, but this means others will project onto me which can feel like a lot of pressure. I need to be careful not to become too arrogant or pressurised into meeting unrealistic expectations of others. It’s shown me the importance of honouring my boundaries.
An open heart centre
Open centres are where we take in and amplify energies from the world around us. An open heart centre means I could place my self-worth on external things and people. It’s important that I don’t let others convince me of the value (or lack thereof) of something. It’s easy for me to fall into the trap of thinking “I’m not enough”, “I need to prove myself” or “I need to do this so I can be like that person who has gained approval and acceptance.” But I’m learning that I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. This is a big one for me, and I’m going to stop seeking the approval of others to validate my self-worth. I’m happy to be authentically me.
Channel 13-33 activated
When I found out I had this channel activated and it meant I am here to help others find their direction through sharing my experiences and stories I was amazed. This is the whole premise behind Wellness around the world – helping and inspiring others by sharing my own experiences. It felt like validation that I was on the right path, this is what I’m supposed to be doing. Sometimes I can feel a bit nervous about sharing something, but this has taken away any doubt. It’s incredible when you’re doing something you’re passionate about and then your Human Design chart confirms this was meant for you all along.
These things only just scratch the surface. I could share so much, but like I said before, it’s unique to me so perhaps I should encourage you to go and study your own human design. I can’t wait to keep delving into mine and integrating the teachings. There are free tools online which will create your chart for you (as long you know your exact time, date and place of birth) or you can work with a coach like I did. If you are willing to invest the money it’s well worth delving into your chart with someone who has studied Human Design. I worked with @slowliving.withlucy and she’s helped me make sense of it all. I loved each of my sessions with her and have come away with a longing to know more.
